Books versus Video Games

The age old debate has always seemed to be books versus video games. The thing about it is there seems to be two types of main nerds as well, book nerds and technology nerds. I myself seem to be an even mix of both, although I have always met some people that are one way or another. I like to call them nerdy purists. Also one of the things that I noticed is that there always seems to be a divide between understandings of the other groups’ point of view.

That is one of the reasons that I created this blog to bridge the gap between those two groups and create a cohesive blend of nerdiness. Plus I don’t know why but it seems to be a strange a thing for girls to be interested in video games. I have been playing video games since I was eleven years old and I have made some great friends because of it. One of my favorite video games series when I was younger was Final Fantasy. I think my favorite game in that series was Final Fantasy 10. Although the irritating part was that Final Fantasy 10.2 it never seemed to end. But that is another thing entirely.
The good thing about this blog is that it is going to be a collaborative effort as well. I will be posting articles from my other gamer girlfriends and getting their prospective on their favorite gaming titles.
Although this blog isn’t going to be mainly about video games, it is going to be about our favorite books as well. One of my favorite book series from my childhood was the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. I am looking forward to the perspectives from the other contributors. Also we will be recommending our favorite books to you so that you can enjoy them as well.
Overall one of the things that I have to pose to you is “What type of nerd do you think you are?” Also what are you most excited to hear about. In my opinion I am looking forward to the video game reviews. That way I can learn what type of games I should try. I have always been focused on Role-Playing Games and I want to broaden my horizons. One of the genres I am looking to explore is first-person shooters.
Also I am looking forward to doing book reviews as well. One of my favorite genres to read about is Young Adult Fiction. I want to start reading more classics and write more reviews about classics as well. Who knows maybe we will end up learning about new genres of books as well. Anything can happen I guess you could say.
